Plastic Trees
“On Melancholy Hill” is such an amazing song. I love the contrast it has with contemporary music. Too many songs these days sing the same message of excess and greed, glorify the life of spending money and indulging in too much. But “On Melancholy Hill” sings the opposite, all the things we want and pursue are ephemeral. In the end we are just going to be left with love. Eventually all the crap we have will all end up on a plastic beach or a landfill. Your brand new tv will brighten your day, but not your life. Like all the things we have, they all break. The love and memories of people cannot rot in a dump, so that’s what we should look for in life first
